A male healthcare assistant was alleged to have sexually assaulted a patient whilst carrying out an ECG along with various blood tests at a doctor’s surgery. The allegation was extremely serious and career-ending. It was said that the female patient was sexually assaulted whilst the procedure took place. She was said to be vulnerable.

The defendant vehemently denied the allegation; he entered a not guilty plea at the outset and was acquitted of all charges after a five-day jury trial. This was a life-changing allegation. By instructing Harewood Law at an early stage, his defence was advanced robustly.
